A Chocolate Lover’s Paradise -The Meadow Shop in Portland

On one of our regular date nights, after having some Mexican food we headed for a walk and saw a crowd at a distance that spiked our curiosity. It was near Christmas time, and there was a big crowd of small families, I believe waiting for a Christmas tree to be lit or something; there was music and it was cold but people were still out.

Behind the crowd I saw a store with some neon signs that said: chocolate, wine, flowers, and gourmet salts. They had me at chocolate, but it sounded like it was all our favorite things in one place! Hubby’s favorite would be wine. We both love flowers, and gourmet salts, why not? We squeezed through the crowd and arrived at paradise, The Meadow.

Oregon Brew Fest By The Willamette River In Downtown Portland

This year’s Oregon Brew Fest took place in July 23-27. Pouring 88 different craft beers from around the country plus another 100 in the Specialty Tent, the Oregon Brewers Festival is the quite the celebration of craft beer.

Jack Sparrow Getting Arrested, a Quinceañera and More: Sights of Downtown Portland

A couple of weekends ago, my hubby and I spent the day in Downtown Portland. We enjoyed the colors of the CityFair, we strolled by the Saturday Market, and we rented bikes and rode them around the river and across the bridges. Picnicking At The Pittock Mansion in Portland, OR

The Pittock Mansion is a French Renaissance-style château in the West Hills of Portland, Oregon, originally built as a private home for The Oregonian publisher Henry Pittock and his wife, Georgiana. It is a 22-room estate built of Tenino Sandstone situated on 46 acres (190,000 m2) that is now owned by the city’s Bureau of Parks and Recreation and open for touring.

Although a tour of the mansion itself might be interesting, we only went there on a Sunday to bask in the perfect weather, have a picnic and enjoy the panoramic views of downtown Portland and Mt Hood.  Continue reading “Picnicking At The Pittock Mansion in Portland, OR”
