From hotels made of ice, to airplanes and castles, staying at a themed hotel can be quite a unique and fun experience.  Continue reading “63 Themed Hotels From All Over The World”

Manchester: An Underrated City and Remaining Festivals of 2015

London often overshadows the bulk of cities in the UK because of its global appeal, the city being recognized as the business capital of the world, and its eclectic mix of cultures. However, there are many cities in the UK that showcase the same creative juices on a slightly smaller scale.

Manchester is one of those cities. Renowned for its rich music history as well as sports teams, Manchester is also home to highly regarded museums, theaters and art galleries. The city also hosts many annual festivals, which are attended by millions. Continue reading “Manchester: An Underrated City and Remaining Festivals of 2015”

A couple of weekends ago, my hubby and I spent the day in Downtown Portland. We enjoyed the colors of the CityFair, we strolled by the Saturday Market, and we rented bikes and rode them around the river and across the bridges. While doing all of this, we encountered some unique sights that made our day all the better.  Continue reading “Jack Sparrow Getting Arrested, a Quinceañera and More: Sights of Downtown Portland”

The Future of Travel, Roads That Glow In The Dark, Things You Didn’t Know About Bob Ross, and More!

Photo of the Day: Wildflowers at Mt St Helens by Kevin McNeal

This week has been pretty uneventful for me, however it seems like it’s earthquake season: Japan, California, Chile, Nicaragua, and now Mexico. This morning Mexico experienced a 7.2 magnitude earthquake that was centered near Acapulco, where many Mexicans are vacationing for Easter holiday including some of my family members. It was felt in at least 6 states including Mexico City which is always vulnerable to distant earthquakes because much of it sits atop the muddy sediments of drained lake beds that quiver as quake waves hit. The magnitude-8.1 quake in 1985 that killed at least 6,000 people and destroyed many buildings in Mexico City was centered 250 miles (400 kilometers) away on the Pacific Coast. An App For Finding Missing Pets, A Bookstore In Space, Oatmeal Nutella Mug Cake, and More!

Cat photo of the day.

Hi everyone, today’s Friday Roundup came late as I have been busy dealing with Homeland Security, immigration lawyers, Paypal blocking my account because they think I’m laundering money, and the DMV taking months to send me my driving license. So… yeah, it has been a bit stressful but luckily today my hubby took me for happy hour to a nice restaurant and we had the most delicious molten lava cake and then we stopped at the grocery store where I bought two mangos! I love mango.

Anyway, I hope you all have an awesome weekend! And enjoy this week’s links. (p.s. a post about the story of my green card will be coming soon.)
