Product Recommendation: BERTRAND – The Organic Meal Replacement Shake

For a while I have been intrigued by meal replacement beverages like Soylent which provide all the nutrients a person needs in powder form that creates a shake.

When I came across BERTRAND my interest peaked because it seems to be the only certified organic option out there and it is produced in Germany, which was a plus for me as I currently and sadly don’t trust food in America very much. The more I found out about BERTRAND the more I wanted to try the product.  Continue reading “Product Recommendation: BERTRAND – The Organic Meal Replacement Shake”

Organic Chocolate, Comfort Food Around The World, Dominogh, and More

Cat photo of the day (by hoschie)

This week, I got my Oregon state 8 year driving license! It was exciting because I passed the test with a 100% (alright, I had to take it twice, but still, they don’t give you the exact same questions every time), and they gave me 8 years which I wasn’t expecting because my green card right now expires in August, and in Durham, NC where I last obtained a driving license, if you are a U.S. resident, they give you a license with the same expiration date as your green card.

In other news, last night I made a special dinner for four for the first time. I had never cooked for more than two people except for potluck dishes like a big bowl of guacamole. Josh and I wanted to make a nice dinner for our hosts, who are now our friends and roommates. The menu was: chicken parmesan, roasted broccoli, garlic mashed potatoes, garlic bread, and salad. It was a success.

I hope you have an awesome weekend! Enjoy these links I gathered from internetland:

Don’t feel bad if your favorite nominated actor/actress didn’t win the Oscar.

Savory Parmesan French Toast, a delicious option for next brunch or lunch or even a quick night dinner.

A geek’s dream movie, superheroes and sci-fi combined, coming this August.

Which Downtown Abbey character are you? I got The Dowager Countess, and my husband got Mrs. Hughes. He wasn’t very happy with his result, he would’ve preferred something more… masculine I guess.

Need an organic chocolate fix?  Here’s is a great selection.

I watched this cat GIF like 10 times and laughed out loud every time.

I enjoyed this 5 min documentary about people eating sour candy balls for the first time.

Ahh… comfort food, here are 15 recipes of comfort food from around the world.
