Craigdarroch Castle in Victoria, British Columbia

Craigdarroch Castle is a Victorian experience and a good example of the massive houses built for entrepreneurs who became wealthy during the industrial age. In this case, it was coal baron Robert Dunsmuir, a Scottish immigrant who made his fortune from Vancouver Island coal.

The immense fortune of the Dunsmuir family is reflected in the four floors of intricate stained glass windows, complex woodwork and luxurious Victorian-era furnishings.

Abkhazi Garden – The Garden That Love Built in Victoria BC

The Abkhazi Garden was built with love by Prince and Princess Abkhazi since 1946. After living separate lives touched by both privilege and tragedy they married and settled in Victoria, BC.

Afternoon Tea at The Fairmont Empress Hotel in Victoria BC

When we told our landlord/housemate that we were heading to Victoria BC for two days, she suggested to go have tea at the Empress Hotel. She said it was in her bucket list. I, a lover of tea and all things British, looked up this event online right away and knew I had to experience it.
