Sports Around The World

I’m not that passionate about sports, but I like them and have a pretty long history with them. I’ve had great moments gathering at friends’ homes to watch Mexico play during the World Cup, and watching Germany play at an outdoor place in Berlin during the Euro Cup with one of my best friends ever, and watching the summer and winter Olympics and wishing I was doing some of those sports like horseback riding or figure skating but completely forgetting about it after a few weeks… Continue reading “Sports Around The World”

Fruit Around The World

mercadojamaicamexico7

After chocolate and cheese, I think fruit is another one of my favorite foods. I haven’t met a fruit I didn’t like and they come in so many different shapes, sizes, and colors. You will also find a different selection depending on which country you’re in.

I’ve had the pleasure to grow up in a country where fruit is abundant and delicious, and I’ve also had the pleasure to travel and taste different fruits across the world. Enjoy this photo-series: Continue reading “Fruit Around The World”

Grey Around The World

budapest hungary elephant

Nobody really pays attention to grey, it’s such a dull color yet it vastly surrounds us in the form of buildings, bridges, pavement, airplanes and ships. It is an industrial color for sure, and one that could describe our present era. We tear down beautiful colorful nature to replace it with this color.

But sometimes, grey is good, like in the elephant in the photo above. Who doesn’t like elephants? And I’m actually quite fond of wearing grey clothes.

Below is a series of photos around the world with grey as the main subject: Continue reading “Grey Around The World”

Wind Around The World

Wind is actually one of my favorite elements. It cools me off when I’m too hot, it blows me away and lets me have fun. Although at times, wind can be destructive (as any element can), it can also be very useful and even create energy!

I remember as a little kid going to one of the far ends on a big cruise ship and being blown away by the wind. I remember I could let go, as if falling down and it would catch me. One of my greatest wind memories.  Continue reading “Wind Around The World”

When Land Meets Water Around The World

victoria bc canada13

Land and water, basically what our planet is made of. When both of these meet, something magical happens. The scenery somehow becomes beautiful and useful for mankind too, whether for leisure or work. They are two completely different things, yet they complement each other so well.  They create a connection that humanity seems to love. It also comes in different forms such as lakes meeting parks, and cities meeting oceans.

I hope you enjoy these photos of land meeting water from across my travels. Continue reading “When Land Meets Water Around The World”

Tiny Around The World

I have to say I love tiny things. It may be because I’m pretty tiny myself and identify haha! Either way I always find amusement in tiny things and my husband loves telling people that when we met I told him I was fun-sized.

But sometimes things that aren’t tiny can look tiny based on distance perspective. A lot of these photos will be in that category. Enjoy tiny around the world! Continue reading “Tiny Around The World”

Hats Around The World

Mexican tourists in Mexico City. Can you spot the only non-Mexican?

Talk about cliché. Mexicans (and one British) wearing sombreros and sitting on a donkey. Yup, that happened.

Hats: “a shaped covering for the head worn for warmth, as a fashion item, or as part of a uniform”, which means that even a piece of cloth can become a hat. Hats are cool, they can be very functional as they can be fashionable and even cultural. If you haven’t seen my 80 hats around the world post, check it out.

In this post I share photos of my own of people wearing hats for cultural, functional, fashionable or silly reasons.  Continue reading “Hats Around The World”

Doors Around The World

Pick your toilet style. India.

Doors are a cool subject to photograph around the world. I don’t make it a point to do so, but I found a few that I took across my travels. The photo above is one of my favorite pictures. I like it’s simplicity but it tells a story, a story of culture, and I love the colors too.

Doors can tell a lot about the place that they lead to or they can be complete mysterious. Doors are often used metaphorically in writing and in speech to get through life.  Continue reading “Doors Around The World”
